What is SQLSaturday?

On this post, I will talk about SQLSaturday. I believe some people don’t know what SQLSaturday is and I am so happy to explain it 😊

SQLSaturday is a free 1-day training event for SQL Server professionals that focus on local speakers, providing a variety of high-quality technical sessions, and making it all happen through the efforts of volunteers and sponsors.

SQLSaturday is supported by PASS……but what is PASS?

PASS is the world’s largest community for data professional and it was co-founded by CA Technologies and Microsoft in the U.S. in 1999.

PASS is designed to help you develop your career and professional networks.

I decided to write this post as I am helping to organise a SQLSaturday in Perth/Australia and a few questions came up to my mind, such as:

  • In which year happened the first SQLSaturday?
  • How many countries had SQLSaturdays?
  • What is the total Number of SQLSaturdays?
  • Number of Sponsorship by Region.
  • Number of Sponsorship by Level.
  • Map with all SQLSaturdays by country and by city

With all these questions, I decided to build a Power BI dashboard to answer my questions, and I hope it helps you as well.

I also want to say a huge congrats to all SQLSaturdays organisers around the world, as organising a successful event requires a lot of planning and hard work, but the result is fantastic and perfect when meets attendee’s expectations.
